Camp NaNo is upon us!
I’ve been pushing myself to get these two projects I’m working on done (the character book and Alex’s—you’ve heard me talk about them before but in case you’re just hopping aboard) before Camp starts, but… I’m not sure it’s gonna happen. No, I mean, the character book is a certainty—I already have the testers lined up and everything, it’s my pride and joy right now—but, Alex? Her story is, well, another story entirely. I hate that feeling when you sit down at the computer and you try to get back into it and the words don’t wanna come and your brain is just mocking you, going “haha, NOPE.”
Hey, peeps! So, this weekend is going to be a good one. I’m having a launch party for Forget Me on Friday! It’s pretty much just a family/friend gathering, but it will be bomb 🙂 I will be doing a reading, so I might post a video for you lovely people to enjoy too.
But while I’m having a real-life party, there will be a digital one (of sorts) as well! Because starting tomorrow, June 15th through Friday the 16th, the Kindle version of my debut will be free! Literally. Zero. Zip. Nada. $0. THAAAAT’S RIGHT.
She’s out, my friends! It’s been a long journey, but I am a published author. Published by the good folks at Quiet Fire Books (you can check them out over here).
For those of you who are just peeking in the doorway now, I’ve been trying to write a publishable book for over eight years now. I wrote a lot of crap in those years, but now? This story, Forget Me, that I’ve been working on since September of 2014? It’s finally out there! *cracks open bubbly* HELL YEAH!
You may be thinking, “So… *clears throat* *checks watch* what’s it about?” Heh, got ya covered:
Y’know how sometimes you have those days, the ones that make you wanna throw your sneakers through a window and curl up in your closet with a box of ice cream sandwiches? You’ve had them. The ones where you wake up with a pain in your neck, followed by your story ideas and characters not wanting to cooperate with you, and then there’s the fact that you have so much on your mind you’d like to have it surgically removed? Mmmkay, multiply that by fifty and spread it out over an entire month, AND THERE’S MY JANUARY.
I wrote a few entries for this week’s Stellar Story Challenge. The theme was double-cross, and I have to tell you I really didn’t have any trouble at all coming up with stuff. Hmm, that’s probably not such a good thing…
“Words meant nothing; his actions stuck.”
“Fell in love, then in hate.”
“He didn’t mean it. Likely story.”
Six words is six words 🙂 Maybe you wanna give it a try? Hop on over to the Stellar Storyteller post for this week!
I penned up a little six-word story for the Sometimes Stellar Six-Word Storyteller Challenge. The topic was pleasure.
Here’s mine: “You can never have just one.” Ahuh. Hey, it was there 🙂
Don’t forget to hop on over and pick which one you liked the most, which hopefully was mine 😉 Or maybe even lace up your creative chucks and enter yourself!
